This approach can be beneficial as it preserves the natural contours of the gum and bone. The implant is typically left to heal beneath the gum for approximately three months. If bone grafting or soft tissue reconstruction is required, healing may take longer. Once healed, the final crown is fitted.
In select cases, a temporary replacement tooth can be attached to the implant immediately — a procedure known as immediate loading.
Tooth Extraction & Site Preparation
